Before and Happily Ever After Chairs

My friend and owner of Alexis Vintiques found these 1900's french chairs for me at the Randolph Antique Market.  If you are ever in Wilmette you must stop by her store promise you WILL find something fabulous.  When I bought them they were only covered with burlap, they actually looked pretty cool but not functional.  I found fabric at Calico Corners on my first visit believe it or not and they turned out pretty amazing!!!  I decided to leave the arm rest uncovered to show the raw beauty, I love the gold paint peaking through.

Cutie Pie Nate Berkus at HSN

Nate Berkus has a fabulous line of home decor offered at HSN, who know?  Well, me for one!  I bought his beautiful white tufted headboard for my guest bedroom and LOVE it plus it's only $349.90 any size!  Check out his entire line of goodies but here are some of my favs.  Nate also recently helped his sister decorate her studio apartment and you can see he used a lot of his stuff from HSN, turned out really nice I think.

Click on item descriptions to view item on HSN website.

Paper, Paper on the Wall...

Well, the decision has finally been made after 9 long months of hunting I found my wallpaper for my entryway!  I had originally found a blue and gilver (part gold, part silver) paper by Anna French that I loved but something kept stopping me from ordering it.  I had the sample hanging in my hallway and at different times during the day I was not liking how the metallic read, way too gold.  So I kept looking with the help of Kell (my friend) and Claudia from Epco Paint Wallpaper and Blinds in Wilmette, IL.  Epco has a wide assortment of beautiful paper and Claudia is amazing to work with, very patient during my MANY months of searching.  Thanks Claudia!!!  In the end Kell found this gorgeous pale gray and white damask paper from Cole and Son that will be the perfect complement for my many blues and my accent color pink!  The paper comes from England so it will take a few weeks to arrive and then it finally goes up.  Check out Cole and Sons website, they truly have the most gorgeous papers.  Below is my pick along with some others I really love from them.  Excuse the poor photo quality had to take with my phone because my husband left today with the camera :(

Dinner Anyone?

Since I have a small dining room I need to think outside the box when it's comes to space.  I really only have room for a table and six chairs therefore I need to have a serving piece elsewhere. Recently my mother-in-law was in town and suggested I do a buffet in my living room which is right off my dining area--that way I could use it to serve off of when I am entertaining and display flowers and other goodies when I'm not!  GENIUS, now why didn't I think of that?  If I was not on a budget there are a several buffets I found from Layla Grace that I D.I.E for!!!  Check out the entire site, they really have some beautiful, unique pieces that could just make a room :0

Coffee Table Makeover?

I really want Anna Spiro's coffee table for my living but I am sure it cost a million dollars!  I love the white finish, the wideness and the fact that is sits low.  Plus I could display all my books and little nick-knacks :0

So I am thinking I could get this currently on ebay (thanks Kell) for super cheap add some high-gloss white paint and transform it into what I want!!!  It's really wide and sits low too.  What do you think?

Pouf I did it again...

Something about these things I just adore!!!  I spied one when I was looking through some decorating mags and knew right then and there I had to have them.  Not only do they look super cool just about in any room but they are the PERFECT coffee table for people with kids--no sharp edges!!!  After months of research I found the perfect poufs through Tazi Design.  They offer them in a wide range of colors, sizes and they come pre-stuffed (which many companies don't offer) PLUS free shipping.  A word to the wise I would avoid ordering poufs on ebay (usually i love ebay) but I have heard the quality is not good.

LOVE this entire room! Sex in the City author Candace Bushnell's apartment

One day I will own a pink sofa:)

Perfect next to a tub

Great in a kids room

Another alternative to a bench at the foot of a bed

Gold Bamboo Anyone?

During one of my "hunts" for an entryway table I came across the most darling gold bamboo two trier table.  Unfortunately for me it has a glass top (not good for babies) but I fell in love with it and several other pieces this cute online boutique has to offer.  Check out the Mermaid Hut, the pieces are totally glamorous and the prices are very reasonable.  Click here for store.  Below are just some of my favs but check out the entire site for some great finds!!!
