Dining Room Chairs to D.I.E. For!!!

Ok, so I admit I watch a lot of reality tv, and one of my favorites is Tori and Dean Home Sweet Hollywood.  So when I was on the "Hunt" for dining room chairs I spied exactly what I wanted on an episode of Tori and Dean--now all I needed to do was find them and not pay a million dollars.  Since I could not call Tori (but sure wish I could, pretty sure we would be best buds) I had to search the internet and antique stores for them.  After MONTHS of searching I found them on good ole ebay.  I have to say I was a little nervous about purchasing chairs I could not sit in let alone see in person but after reading the online reviews I was convinced.  They came all the way from California (maybe Tori got hers from there too LOL) and I am in LOVE with them.  These chairs are in perfect condition, newly upholstered and I could not be happier, now I just have to find a french farm table to go with them.  I got them for a fabulous price and I know Candice from Marino Imports has more available along with many other amazing pieces.  Click Here For Chairs  Here are some pictures of mine below and of course a picture of Tori's too!  Sorry the one picture of Tori's is all I could find but you get the idea :)

All White Paint?

Recently, I have been loving when an entire house is painted all the same color like white or pale gray for example.  Then you can go crazy with color using furniture, accessories and my FAV wallpaper.  Someone who has mastered this is Anna Spiro interior design goddess and author of Absolutely Beautiful Things  look at her amazing use of color against the white walls!  I love the clean, crisp lines and use of bright, vivid colors against it.  Here are some pictures of her "City Home" below and click here to view the entire house and get ready to drool!!!  What are the chances my husband will let me repaint our entire house white??  Pretty slim I think since we just painted 8 mths ago!!!

Another Random Weekend Pit Stop......

Ok, now my husband is beginning to get suspicious!!!  On my way to run a totally unrelated antiquing errand I happened upon Heritage Trail's annual GARAGE SALE.  For those of you that don't know about Heritage Trail you are missing out, it's an antique mall in Wilmette, IL. The address is 410 Ridge Rd. and here is their website site Click Here.  They have tons of dealers and you are sure to find some AMAZING pieces, I always do.  Also if you decide to make a trip the entire stretch of Ridge Ave. for several blocks is loaded with wonderful antique stores including Pandora's Box (416 Ridge Ave. right next to Heritage), and Alexis Vintiques  (805 Ridge Ave) just to name a few.  The two pieces I picked up for a STEAL were, another federal mirror (I know I obsessed) BUT this one is HUGE and made of wood not resin and a lovely oil painting--$20 for the mirror and $15 for the painting! Below please find my lovely husband assisting with the mirror placement and the oil painting.  Neither has been hung yet because the baby was in bed and we did not want to wake him, I hate waiting :0

Powder Room Facelift!!!

Last week I showed the wallpaper I am planning to use in my powder room and here are my "layering" pieces.  I am hoping to turn my plain, sad powder room into something fabulous.  I am planning on switching out the dreary mirror, shelving unit and adding a glamour portrait.  I purchased the vintage gold shelving piece from a friends garage sale, the gold leaf mirror from Charm Cottage in Union Pier, MI and the vintage glamour portrait from Coco+Kelley on etsy.  Here are some pictures of the powder room as is and the pieces I am adding.  Best part is my Mom reminded me last week this soon to be fabulous powder room is where all of  my son's friends will be peeing!!!  LOL

Wallpaper I am using--Manuel Canovas Pali in Rose
